Our History
The Food Company was founded in 2000 as an alternative shopping destination to the increasingly oppressive supermarket chains. The disappearance of independent butchers, fishmongers, bakers etc from British high streets was making it impossible to buy really fresh real food. So, with the modern need for convenience in mind The Food Company was born.
Our cafe was set up as a place to meet, enjoy a coffee and sample some of the finest ingredients from our counters. Today we are proud of our well-established 60 seater restaurant and downstairs cafe and have a reputation for uncomplicated menus, preferring to place the emphasis on the fantastic ingredients we have at our disposal
